About Odette

Hi everyone, my name is Odette and I am the owner and founder of Haye Creatives. I have always had a passion for numbers (math was one of my favourite subjects in school) which is how I ended up studying Economics in university in 2013. 

After I obtained my economics degree I decided that I wanted to pursue another passion (well actually two) first before settling down and getting a job: travel and photography. So in 2017 I left with a backpack and a camera in my hand off to travel the world. My journey took me to Iran, India, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand where after only four months into my journey I met Rob, the love of my life and the man I married 5 years later. 

Rob and I have basically been traveling and living across the world together for the last 5 years. During most of our travels we were living off savings and money we earned on the road which meant we had to live on a very strict budget (50$ a day for the both of us), and count every penny spent. With my passion for numbers I tracked all our spendings in spreadsheets, creating budgets and allocating every dollar to maximise our savings. It wasn’t until 2021 that we realised that the spreadsheets we had been using ourselves could also be helpful to other people out there.  So with the knowledge I had about living on a budget and creating spreadsheets we created the Haye Creatives Etsy shop!

I wanted to create spreadsheets that are minimal in design, easy to use and simply make it a bit more fun to do your budget. I personally know what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck, to worry how you are going to stretch your money till the end of the month and how you will be able to pay your next bill. It wasn’t until I started budgeting, tracking where I spent my money, that I realised where I could save money and make the most of my money earned. 

Even if you are currently not stuck living paycheck to paycheck, you might want to live more consciously when it comes to spending your money. Perhaps you would like to focus on paying off debt and saving money instead. No matter what your financial situation is, or what your financial goals are,I am here to help make money management easier, and hopefully even a bit more fun! 

In late 2021 I also added a collection of spreadsheets specifically designed for small business owners. These spreadsheets were designed to be minimal in cost but have all the functions needed for those who run a small business. 

I am currently working on creating and updating our spreadsheets to make money management, or perhaps even run your small business, even easier!
